94 jetta 2.0

I drove to work and and car was fine then as
i was leaving work i went to first and started
to go and gas pedal was a little jurky and
then all of a sudden car reved up and gas
pedal stayed down for a second so i went to
second and it was pretty normal. Then i got
on the highway and no problem for the most
part. Mainly only when i went from stop to
first. And its like somethin keeps pingin
around somewhere when it does it. Not sure
what is goin on.  Any advice on what to do. I
dont think throttle cable or throttle body is
doing it. Checked both and seem ok. I did
put a new intake on and it was a different
year than mine so it fit good except i had to
cut a small hole in the rubber intake tube to
put the one small breather hose connected
to it. The one toward the firewall at top of
motor. I did that temporary till i get the right
one. I dont think that would do this though. I
also noticed that the idoler piece on top of
motor was bent so i took it off but car still
does same thing
