I have a w208 2002 230 clk kompressor soft top. It runs great but if I sit at a junction or trafic jam for a couple of mins the car starts to have an eratic tick over as in it tries to lurch forward so hard I have to put it out of drive and in to neutral.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It runs great but if I sit at a junction or trafic jam for a couple of mins the car starts to have an eratic tick over as in it tries to lurch forward so hard I have to put it out of drive and in to neutral. The rev counter will go from about 600 to 1100 up and down. When I pull away it seems ok and drives great again, till I stop and it comes back. I have changed the maf sensor so far, any ideas before I put it in a garage ? Help

an ambient air temperature sensor may be the cause after it warms up is sending incorrect messages to the ECU~ The throttle position sensor or accelerator sensor produces this.
