Speedometer problems

Asked by Carriemary Aug 04, 2009 at 03:30 PM about the 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that I am restoring. I am almost done with it, but the speedometer is being a little weird. It will wiggle back and forth from like 50 to 70 when I'm going say 55. Has anyone else had ths problem or does anyone have a solution? Any help would be great!

That is normal for an older vehicle. Your speedometer cable probably needs to be replaced.
