electric windows wont roll up.

I need help my windows are electric but wont go up. the cables that  are connected to the windows motor are unplugged. i know that the guy that i bought the car was using a battery to make the windows work. anybody know how and what battery do i need to make the windows go up and down??

You can actually make it move using a 9volt battery but it will be slower than if you where using the correct 12volts. Attach the battery with jumper wires one way to make it go up and switch contacts to make it go down. Assuming that the fuse is good and the wiring is fine then the switch is probably bad and needs replaced.
