Asked by John Mar 23, 2019 at 06:48 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet HHR

Question type: General

Yes. My uncle wants to disconnect the Negative Batt Cable of his HHR, when not driving it for Months at a time.  But he is afraid if he does disconnect it, and Locks his doors, he will not be able to get back into the HHR.   Is this indeed the case.  Or is there a way for him to Unlock doors and get in?     Thank you

So my uncle thinks that if he disconnects the Neg Batt Cable, that his key (or remote) will not longer work. Is this true ? It says in his Owners Manual to disconnect it, if idle for long periods of time. Thank you.
