When I'm driving the speedometer says in doing 90  
miles per hour when I might be doing 40 moh

first of all...did you change/replace anything...anything?????

I have the same car. You have accidentally changed your speedometer to read killometers instead of mph. You can download the manual to see how to change settings on dash to get your miles per hr back
