Motor still running after turned off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
When I turn off the car the motor continues to run
for a few seconds after the car has been turned
off and it sounds like it's slowing down like the
motor is still spinning. And the idle seems off by a
little as well

That problem is related to igition timing and low grade fuel. Also refered to as pre ignition
What do I need to do to fix it and is it going to get worse
Get the engne serviced, particularly ignition plugs and points if you have points, use a fuel grade of 95octane or higher, sjouod solve your problem, i had simular problem on ford v6
If it diesels a lot I suppose it could hurt it but I would not worry too much. Witwillem is right that higher octane gs might reduce the problem but the rest of his advice is rubbish.
I found the issue I have a radiator fan that's got sum broke blades most likely from the raccoon I hit. And since there is to fans and it's winter would the motor stay cool enough if I unplugged the one fan until I replace it
The car will probably run cool enough in the winter. Don't neglect to replace it while the weather is still cool.
