2001 Chevy 2500 HD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck just failed inspection due to the service engine soon light not coming on
I pulled the dash out to check the bulbs, all bulbs work fine
The lights around the service engine soon work, ABS etc, just that one does not come on
Can someone give me an idea what could be causing this?
Thanks from a first timeer on here

The service engine soon light is controlled by the Engine Control Unit (ECU). Get the codes read to see what's going on with it.

They SAID it did not show any codes, but they failed it because the light does not come on
