Asked by lucky2378 Jan 27, 2011 at 10:25 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LT Extended Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

During a snow storm today I tried to engage 4lo while in 4hi.  As I tried to engage the
system the service 4wd light came on and will not disengage 4hi.  My truck is now stuck in
4wd.  Any ideas on what the issue could be?  Thanks

Try DISCONNECTING the battery for a few minutes, that should did it.

Finally gave up and paid the money for a diagnostic, it was actually an encoder motor that went on th 4wd system. Thanks for the suggestion though.
