Asked by mcquade Apr 18, 2007 at 11:33 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The driver side power seat will not moveat all, up, down, forward r backward. The fuses aren't blown. When you push the button to move it forward or backwadr there is a clicking sound under the dash in a silver box. It desn't make a sound at all when the heat button is turned on and you try to move it. It also doesn't make a sound if you try to move it up or down. It only does it forward and backward.

Hi McQuade. Sounds like you need to get to get to a dealer and have the box identified. If that's what needs to be replaced it's better than any of the potential problems with the seat itself. It probably won't cost to have it diagnosed and perhaps the service manager has seen this before. Take a hot cup of coffee to your local service manager and see what he has to say. Good luck!
