I would not pay much unless the owner can prove it is an original 429 car. A Marti report is what I would ask for or the original window sticker/build sheet.
It’s all original 1owner. With the 429 motor. I can send a few pics if you you would like to see. I was going. To buy it for just the motor u til I read that this option might of been a little rare
Get the VIN and use online vintage Ford websites to verify the build information. Post photos if you can. You can also look on Hemming's to get an idea of value. Parting this car out would be a crime!
From this pic I would say it is a 2 barrel engine.
It has AC which is a plus. Try Haggerty to estimate value but I would guess $5,000 without seeing the rest of the car. If it is a rust bucket deduct from that .
Here is another pic. I don’t ha e the Vin number yet
If the body and frame are not rusted out I would say it's worth approx 7-10k. If it has bucket seats and console and a few options like pwr windows pwr steering pwr brakes etc and the top is in good condition and the motor runs, then the value would be higher.
That IS indeed a 429 4 bbl. Ihave the exact same car. It has a strong C-6 behind it. The engine put out 380 hp with 490 ft pounds of torque. It was the early 429 that was a powerhouse. Later ford emissions the crap out of them and killed the hp. That setup is worth more than the car.

I own a 1969 xl with a 390. It is also a convertible. Is it a galaxie series or an Ltd series? I think it is a limited version. Pretty much restored. Have it since 1978..
Paid 2500 for this one it’s a 390 auto car with pretty much every option but ac. Figured cleans up with new paint top and interior it will bring 14k

i have a 69 galaxie, i paid 400. two years ago for it , i was intending to use the motor and trans, for a 57 ford truck, i just dont have the heart to gut out the car
1969 429 4v had a air-cleaner sticker that said "Ultra high Compression." It was 10.5 to 1 from factory. I stuck one into a 1970 XL convert in Vancouver Canada. Wonder what happened to that car....
