I may be wrong here and sure someone will correct me but we are talking about a Datsun..right.??First edition was the 240...yes ?? The Nissan 280ZX (also known as the Datsun 280ZX and Fairlady Z) was a sports coupe produced from 1978 to 1983. Incorrect the first 280z was released in the us in 1975 with fuel injection the model before that was twin carb 260z

Joseph is correct I have had 5 of them. they first hit the US in 1970-1973 240Z 1974 260Z 1975-1978 280Z 1979-1984 280ZX

Paul is absolutely correct. I'm a original owner of a 1979 280ZX. Bought in Sept.1978 People are always wanting to buy the ZX whenever driven. Mostly just dreamers!

Yes this is been debated the Z cars came here in 69 the 280 is the engine size that was slightly modified from the 260 which was modified from the 2.4 or 2400 CiCi's and the owner could be correct about buying it over there 67 mr. K and his constituents wanted to Market in Europe and over here and nobody would buy a car called a fair lady except for girls which I used to think these were chick cars until I bought one a former girlfriend had a 260 back in the 80s 4-speed I wasn't impressed it was puny compared to my 87 IROC 5. 7
