Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am planning to buy BMW 535i not paying more than $40K with less than 30,000 miles.
Which was the best year: 2008, 2009, 2010? Why? I want the twinturbo.

the engine is the same for all models, the single turbo was late 2010 in the new F10 5 series, main things to look for would be good service history and see if you can find one that has already had the injectors and high pressure pump replaced

I was the owner of a 2009 535xi twin turbo. It was taken back by BMW for the turbo failure issue which is very dangerous and is present in large number of the twin turbo cars. BMW did a recall but has made deals privately with each owner when the problem could not be resolved. I was a loyal BMW customer for over 28 years. Needless to say...I would avoid this car as all costs. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
