Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Kia Preggio 2006 - loud high pitched (electrical?) sound has started in last couple of
months.
This sound may last for whole trip or disappear. It comes on with ignition and stops as
engine starts then the noise comes again. It continues with or without radio turned on;
with or without air conditioner/heater/fan on. Noise has stopped 50 mtr from service
repair place! Please Help!

You have withstood a loud high pitched noise for MONTHS?! Without going to a mechanic- this is the kind of stoicism I had when my two babies would start crying at the same time- but, I don't think replacing their fan belts would've helped-

Yet again I have booked to go to the mechanic, alas the high pitched sound has now stopped. I have no doubt it will come back again as it did last time! Unfortunately it tends to disappear when anyone who may have knowledge to assist is around. Last time I went to the service centre the noise stopped as I turned to go into it. The noise is loud inside but can be heard a little outside.
