Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Hi. My Bantam has no engine warning light witch ignition switch-on. It cranks, start but wont idle unless I keep the pedal slightly presses to let air into the throttle body. DTC shows Engine temp sender and MaP Sensor permanent.
I also dont hear any engine electrics when I switch on.
Can you help please?

The reason this Bantam does not have a Engine Warning light is that it has a Euro 1 Emmision system. The Engine warning lights were fitted on the Euro 3 Systems which none of the Bantams had. The Euro 2 system for Bantams came in in 2007 Year model. There is a Immobilizer warning light next to the clock. Does the light come ON and then go OFF after a few seconds , or does it not come on at all, or does it Stay ON or does it flash quickly , the stop and fash up codes ?
Yes the immobiliser light comes on and goes off with the key inserted and the ignition turned on. The key and key reader was checked to be ok. To me it just seems as if the idle control and all items on the intake is not initialising? Thank you for the feedback.
Clear the fault codes, With the Ignition ON and with the ignition ON , unplug the Engine Coolant Temp sensor on the thermostat housing. The cooling fan will run at full speed. If the fault is still there, I would check the wiring harness between the ECT Sensor and the Computer Box and the TMAP sensor and the computer box. The one wire (feed) to the TMAP senor should be a 5 volt referance voltage.
Thanks I will do that and will report back on my findings.
Hi. Just an update. Ive checked the wiring between ECU and sensors. I found it to be in order. I replaced the ECU with key-reader and programmed the key. Started and it runs and idle perfectly. Thank you for all the help. Much appreciated.
