We have had a few of these. Its quite possibly the key reader. When it's damp, it won't start. The engine doesn't crank. when its dry the engine will crank. The curcuitry for the key reader needs to be dried out with a hear dryer . If you send the key reader to us we dry them out and then seal the circuitry off with a special sealer for electronics.
eix my friend your too jhb am in venda limpopo them what to replace or what do so that its can start n not stuck in the rain weather the key reader is under the streeing n i see but what can i do to make my car start or now what be the cause if i buy new key reader will its need program with computer box or its plug n play when can i buy key reader
These Key readers are no longer available through the Ford Dealer network parts department. That why we are available to repair them. On this system the keys need to be programed to the key reader and this is intern programed to the PCM. Once we have repaired the system. we code the keys as well. Then it's plug and play. The three items, The PCM, Key reader and keys will have to be couriered to us in Pretoria so that we can repair them and then we can send them back to you.
We have had some of them with the same symtems , when it starts to rain or when the weather gets damp, the vehicle does not start. This is nornally the key reader needs to be dried out. We need to test all three items together once complete.
