with frequent oil changes and no other engine problems, a timing chain will last the life of the engine- (as long as the valves and rings)- probably longer than you will own the car- timing BELTS are the ones that require frequent changin'

According to my '04 owners manual, it's good "for the life of the engine"... whatever that may be?
