Your steering wheel probably locked up. Turn the wheel left and right while turning the key in the ignition on/off.

Check your battery. Mine was at 4v. When I put the charger on it immediately fixed the problem but I'm sure I'm headed to the auto parts store for the replacement of the battery.

2012 Buick Enclave. Key won't come out of ignition-Took off top of steering wheel cover, removed (4) 7mm screws under steering column, removed plastic covers from left and right sides of steering wheel. There is a little cam to the right of the ignition switch that if you push if forward it will let you turn the key all the way back and get it out. You may need to turn the key forward and back when while pushing the cam forward to get it to release.

I have this all the time. Check the ignition fuse. Mine is a 15 amp at the bottom in the middle. It is fussy on mine. a wiggle will usually kick the system back on with a click. I've also kicked the bumper to get it back on, lol. Not sure how to fix it, but it's an easy work around and also easy to try if you are in this position.

See my answer (90) above. My key would go half way back and would turn off vehicle but wouldn't come out of ignition. It would kill the battery as key was in stuck in accessory/start position. Instructions for how to get plastic steerinf wheel cover off above. There is a cam on the ignition switch that can be pushed forward to to get the ignition switch to go all the way back once the plastic covers have been removed. I was able to drive it with the covers off until dealership replaced switch in the transmission floor console.
