I have a question about power radio antenna mast replacement

antenna broke near base of mast...do i need to replace the whole thing or just the mast and plastic gear strip???...know what i mean?

you can replace just the mast,but you might have to open up the ahtenna cover and remove all remaining pieces of the nylon cord.
