Escape shifting hard FYI
To anyone how owns a Escape 2008-2010 if you are experiencing hard shifting when cold sometimes extremely hard or jerky check your transmission fluid level. I had this happen to me and turns out this happens alot according to Ford, if transmission is down even 1 liter of fluid you may have hard jerky shifting. Just wanted to share this for you Escape pwners FYI.

you should drain the transmission pan every oil change and fill it up. Its cheap and will make sure your transmission is always full and clean.
That is a total waste of time and money the average transmission oil change is every 60,000-100,000kms depending on the manufacture. Anyone who does that at every engine oil change like you said (which is roughly 5000-10,000kms depending on type of engine oil) has either too much money or not enough common sense.
MAKE SURE you do not have a transmission cooler leak. Check for red fluid on the left hand side of the radiator down low, it also could be coating the small black plastic airdam on that side, and note it probably will be mixed up with dirt. This is a flaw in the tranmission cooler radiator design, and ford had a recall on it, sadly for me i bought a used US escape in Canada i had to fix myself.
