2006 Escape: flashers intermittently go off when the car is parked and no keys in it.
My 2006 Ford Escape has an intermittent problem that is now causing me to be stranded at times due to drain on the battery. The flashers will just start going off for no apparent reason, when parked. Now it has another problem which is the "door ajar" dash light illuminating while driving down the road and the interior light comes on.

If you google Ford Escape complaints, you will find that a lot of people have electrical problems with this vehicle. If you have a security system, there is probably a malfunction causing your flashers to illuminate. I would put in a battery disconnect switch. Would be cheaper than trying to fix at the dealership. As for the door ajar light, it may be your rear door. Have someone push the rubber plunger with their fingers and see if the light goes out on the dash. One of those door switches may be bad in the vehicle.
Thank you. I'll check theseout today. I am interested in the battery disconnect switch as well. Is this something fairly easy to install and is it mounted inside (on the dash)?
You can buy the disconnects for under the dash or under the hood. Which ever you prefer. Yes, they are easy to install.
