Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Stranded and wrecker called to deliver our 2011 Ford Explorer Sport to the Ford
dealer.  Corrosion at the battery under the little red enclosure with the battery
cables and electrical cables.  The dealer replaced the entire harness to the tune
of $850.00  Could the cable have just been repaired with a new ring that was
eaten up with the corrosion, instead of this extensive repair?
