Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband could not get the 8th spark plug in - the socket dropped back and he doesn't have the proper tools.  Can I drive with only 7 spark plugs - about 15 miles to my mechanic.  Towing is  very expensive... Thanks for your help.

Doesn't need to be plugged in but atleast needs to be installed. That particular cylinder will not hold any pressure without it. And

you risk running a dry cylinder which is far worse..... cylinder 4 or 8? and is it a 4.6 0r 5.4L? Simple 3" extension and a swivel socket usually does the job and make sure u have a flexible magnet to remove the tools piece by piece

Get a swivel, a socket extension, and a flex magnet. A lot cheaper than a tow, Much cheaper than a fire, which would be more expensive than an engine.
