My 2006 F250 5.4 engine will not crank

Asked by Zmanmoino Mar 19, 2018 at 01:38 PM about the Ford F-250

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

On Highway 50 or 60 miles per hour and I
thought for a second and I was driving in
lower gear so I kicked my Leverage up one
notch and apparently went to new truck
then I noticed the engine is not running
anymore pulled to the side of the highway
and try to start that and all I was doing
was clicking sounds like the starter was
kicking in but was not turning the engine.
At the same time it killed the battery really
quick we jump start it and it still the same
big click and no crank. I told it to my house
I replace the battery with another older
one I had and it starts giving me all kinds
of warning siren and telling me check the
gauges also when I turn the lights on
everything would go off. I went ahead and
put my old battery back in and charged it
up and try to crank and the same thing big
click and no cranking I marked the belt
and the pulley on the alternator and I tried
to start it several times can I check my
mark which was moved about half an inch
to one in each try. Anybody any idea if my
engine is seized it shouldn't move at all
am I correct and if it's not seized what
could cause not cranking

thanks for responding. Even though the engine terms only tiny bit at a time you still think it's seized up. I was always told when the engine is seized up you won't be able to turn it at all. Also I am not sure if the engine can seize up driving and it has oil of course unless the pump is stopped working which I did not notice that at all while I was driving most definitely it could stop pumping or not as good as it should. You do not think and has anything to do with the starter relay or ignition relay
