can an 89 ford 460 interchange with a 95 460??

Question type: General

I am in need of a new/used engine for a 95 ford truck. is an 89 460
compatible with a 95 460 engine??

I have looked at pictures of both. Both seem to be serpentine belt engines. Thermostat and dip stick are in the same position. Please advise as to if i need to change or alter anything or will everything plug in and go. Thanks

If something is not the same just interchange it from your old engine. Give it once over to see if there is anything to be changed over. Front of the engine, the top of the motor set-up, exhaust manifolds, the oil pan.
