Well maybe over in europe where they have the diesel rannger but here in america no. I have seen rangers with the 5.0L v8 that came in some of the explorers though.

It's highly unlikely. Ford has always tried to use the Ranger as their "light pickup" here in America. I believe they will keep it that way with a lighter motor. If you want a v8, you'll have to play their ball and go buy an F150. That or customize a Ranger, but good luck with that haha.

Well actually in 2010 the twin turbo ECO BOOST is comming out and replacing the v8 in the f-150, and mustang. It will also come in the new 2010 taurus and another model and posibably the Ranger.

sorry to correct you bro, but ford is not putting the twin turbo 3.5 eco boost in the mustang. That motor was designed strictly for the 2010 ford taurus SHO. And ford has already announced that they will be replacing the 4.6 modular motor with a New and improved 5.0 (not to be mistaken for its long worn push-rod counterpart) whereas the v6 model will fancy an 3.5 v6, it will not be the Twin-turbo eco boost model. Just a naturally aspirated 3.5l

About the V8 Ranger, the only rangers that had v8s in them were the f100 Rangers from the 70s as far as I know. Im in the process of fully building a 302 stroked to whats called a 331, but mathematically it will be a 333. Should be around 400 horse or so at the crank when its all done. The V8 swap is simple, you can get a kit from JEGS for around 500 bucks, then all you need the drivetrain out of a crown vic, preferrably an HO mustang, but the crown vics are abundant and cheap.

I'd never heard of the Ranger GT, so I did a little research. I found out that ford introduced it in 86' and made it until 88'. It had a 2.9 v6 and a 5 speed manual or 4 speed auto. They planned on putting the 3.0 SHO engine in it, but that never happened. No mention of a 5.0 ever available from the factory... http://www.therangerstation.com/resources/RangerGT_History.html http://www.therangerstation.com/resources/images/RGT_Ad.JPG

Ranger GTs in 88 had ground fx n so but a few dealers went ahead and completed transformation by dropping 5.0 pkg in them.

I also had a friend in 1986 that had a 5.0 "302" and it would smoke the Mustangs!
