Good possibility could be your throttle position sensor and/or the Mass airflow sensor. I owned one of these cars and had these two issues with it. There is a spray cleaner you can buy at the auto parts store to clean the mass airflow sensor. I would recommend trying that. I stress DO NOT TOUCH THE SENSOR! It will destroy it. It is located in the air intake duct. It looks like a small resistor inside the housing.
