could i have a bad ecm

it's more likely something else. like mike said check you coil and fuses, if they check out try the alternator. if you haven't done them in a while, plugs and wires are always a good idea too, though i'm certain they aren't your problem.
Also check fusible links under hood .One should be for ECM .Also bad crankshaft position sensor will do this."It doesn't know when to fire the plugs."
As all above, never presume the worst as this can become costly!!! Always go back to basics - Is there fuel in the combustion chambers, is there a spark, is the top of the engine connected to the bottom i.e cambelt / timing chain broken??
i believe its the icm modular
i have a similar problem with my s10 driving down the road and out of nowhere it shut down i do have fuel pressure since i just change the fuel pump and i do have spark but the engine wont start it does shows a code po452 which is the fuel pressure sensor could that b my problem>??? please help
Janier did you ever get an answer to your problem? Mine is doing the same thing.
If you are having problems with fuel delivery, the ground to the fuel pump could be your problem. If the wire connection to the frame is rusted ,corroded that would do it.
I would pull the ignition control module and have it tested. Any parts house can test them free.
I have a similar problem pulling code for crank position sensor changed it, code goes away but then comes on. I loose power dash and lights freak out as well when it’s about to stumble out
Probably the computer. When they go bad they no longer sends a signal to the fuel injector therefore you have sparked you have fuel pressure but the truck won't start. Easiest way to check it's a spray some fuel into the intake and see if it starts up and it don't cost nothing except for a little bit of gas
I have a question I have changed plugs wires bottom cap and pump and lines and fuel pump map sencer runs fine till u put a load on the motor what's my problem
