The check engine light only comes on while going up hills? This could be any number of things. Either a sensor or component is failing only under those conditions or something else is effecting the PCM like a slightly plugged exhaust, bad injectors, etc. For issues like this it is cheaper to get a scanner that can read you PCM codes and live data during the issue then you have an idea where to start.

hello, I am currently having this same issue in my 2005 Silverado 1500 WT with the 4.3. Did you ever figure out what the issue was? Engine light comes on and flashes when driving long uphills and truck loses power but then if you stop and restart it goes away or if you just drive through it it goes off.

I’m having the same problem and I’m still trying to figure it out I don’t know what cause it I need help too. Even though when I’m still driving it and it blinking still until I stop at a gas station and cut the truck off and turn it back on it go away.

Going through the same I've changed fuel pump spark plugs wires filter fuel injector is next does seem like I got half the battle done idk
