Tapping noise when you let off the gas

I just bought a 2008 sivlverado 1500 LT. I noticed that there was a tapping noise in the front end when I let off the gas. Chevy machanic did not know what it was. If you put in neutral while driving, it went away then once you get below 20 mph the noise stops also. It sounds like a card in the spokes of a bike!

check your motor mounts. It could be that one is allowing the motor to rock and the fan hit the shroud
Does it change as the engine speed changes or does it change as the vehicle speed changes. If it changes with vehicle speed probably something with front end if it changes with engine speed then most likely engine related
NWPA, did you ever figure this out? Mine started to do the same thing last week.
Same here. I know my motor mount is broken.. its not the fan.
Did you ever find out what it was mine started doing it and I can't figure out what it is
