Transmission swap

Can I take the 4l60e transmission out of my 1991
s10 4.3l vortec v6 and put it on my 1997 Silverado
it also has the 4.3l vortec v6

The transmission controls are different so it won't work. OBD1 vs OBD2.

Ok thank you and with that being said I know this is a shot in the dark but could I take the engine out of the silverado and put it in the s10?

Possibly if you swap out the engine wiring and the ECU with it.
