1994 Silverado V6 4.3

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I start my 1994 Chevrolet
Silverado 1500 up, its fine but when I
put it in gear it just moves smoothly
through all gears with no response
from the transmission. I do know the
transmission shift rod is still in tact
and moves when I shift through the
gears. Any ideas on wat could be
wrong?
