1994 chevy 2500 6.5L diesel will start and run.but wen i drive it,it dies.but will start right bak up.wat is causing this?

May have bad fuel, water mixed in with the fuel due to issues with fuel holding tanks at the gas station. I had a similar issue in the past, truck would sit, then start fine but after a short drive and the fuel gets mixed in the fuel tank from a normal drive I would see the issue again.
