I have a 2006 2500 HD. The gas mileage is horrible. 10 mpg in city. Less if I am pulling a load. What can I do to increase gas mileage. Thanks.

You can always get a programmer, exhaust, intake, etc. to increase fuel economy and power. But those trucks are not known for getting much better than what you are stating regardless.
This is my second 2500. I got 16 on the highway and 14 in town on the other. I am reading where people are still getting better than mine. Anything would help.

I have an 04 2500HD crew cab LB 2 WD with a 6.0L motor and automatic transmission and my truck was getting 9 to 10 miles MPG before I put a K&N FILTER in it and a Dynomax cat back exhaust on it. Now I am getting 11.5 MPG. And my truck needs some parts replaced to run right (O2 sensor(s), coils, spark plugs, spark plug wires, etc).....but I do know that the trucks are suppose to get almost 20 MPG on the highway. I think the sticker said that they were suppose to get 14 to 19 or 20 MPG. Depending on what u want to spend there are a lot of after market parts u can put on ur truck to help it run better and get better MPG and I also read that if u change all ur fluids (oil, transmission fluid, and rear end oil/grease) to synthetic u will get better MPG also. IF u like I can recommend some things to do and let u know prices and just how muck more MPG u will get from each. Thank u and have a wonderful day.
What gear ratio does your truck have? Do you have monster tires on it? What do you get out on the highway?
