With the key off the three brake lights work correctly when the brake pedal is depressed. With the key on the two rear brake lights stay on all the time and the third brake light works correctly when the pedal is depressed. Also, The cruise control does not work. This all started after had the dash appart trying to repair a problem with the defroster. The brake light switch was replaced to no avail

Check any of the harnesses under the dash that you might have had undone or might have bumped. I would also look for any pinched wires.

Follow the wires from the brake light switch up into the dash wiring. You may have to pull the dash back apart to find it.
