I have a 2000 Dodge Ram, when I turn the headlights on, the truck will run fine until I turn a corner/ take a curve then the battery gauge bottoms out and something under the hood starts squealing.

the squealing under the hood would be the belt. and perhaps the alternator is bad or the belt tensioner is bad and allowing the belt to squeal.
