2015 Ram 330 PPM HC Engine Problems?

My radiator went out, had it replaced.  After replacing the temperature gauge
would intermittently spike to too hot but then drop right back to normal range.  
Had a leak detection test performed and there was a leak either in the head
gasket or the heads.  Used a head gasket sealer product and it stopped the
leak.  The temperature gauge still does the intermittent spike to high.  A test
of my emissions showed 330 PPM HC.  Are their any possible causes of this
that would not force replacing the engine?

When the hydrocarbon (HC) emissions are high it usually means the engine is running too hot or too lean. Hope that helps! Jim
