truck will not start

Asked by Cathy Oct 30, 2012 at 09:17 AM about the Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Last nite I was driving my truck it started smoking really bad.  Now it will not do anything except make a horrible noise when I start it.

Opps. When you say smoke (white/gray?) and a knocking or similar sound, I think broken piston rod, broken rings, something serious. Don't shoot me I'm the messenger and that's also only opinion, I may be way off. But an engine will run with a broken rod, just not for long
