rpm jumps up while driving
while driving, the rpm jumps up for no reason . I can hear the engine rev up, and then it goes right back down. Don't feel any jerk, but it sort of sounds like you put it in neutral and back in drive. Any ideas?? Very annoying.

what year truck is it, if is a 06 or newer with a hemi and the rpm's raise 200 to 300 rpm's and goes back down then that is your mds system and it is normal.

My truck does the same thing with he 4.7 magnum. I got a new iac valve and map still does the same thing.
I got 07 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 and mine does the same thing no codes popping up even when I am in park idling my rpm needle moves a hair up and down and when it shifts to 3ed it drops to 1500RPM it’s normal with the year of the truck.
Wish I had an answer. But my 2014 1/2 ton. 5.7 Hemi does the same thing? While in drive going down the road. The RPMs rev then drop 8 seconds to 10 seconds go by RPMs rev then drop Again, and again and again, and I don't know why.
I've got an 02 4.7 magnum 1500 rpm needle will go from 0.5 and drop sometimes it goes back up and idles while sitting in drive at a light. Don't notice anything from the engine except when I come to a stop at a light and it revs up a little then plans out which happens every time I come to a stop any ideas?
I have a 2014 ram 1500 and when I drive (around 50-60km / h) the rpm goes up and down as if I was giving gas. What could that be? Can I still ride for a few days like this?
