MY TRUCK WILL TURN OVER BRIEFLY BUT THEN STOPS TURNING OVER AND WON'T START. It will eventually start but sometimes while running it will bog down when I accelerate. Carb issue ?

wirebrush and clean the battery and battery terminals...and the block connection to the cable...and the little looper at the positive too~ get it all nice and clean with a hose so you won't get acid and lead in your eyes~ put 'er back and voila...you'll be happy once again~
a '76 Chevy with a normal carburetor...look at the thermal spring and heat riser...the stove kit and the thermal diverter on the air snorkel~ not only is the battery power reduced...perhaps your carb needs a little mainenance...do you know someone who can set the two critical screws to the correct positions...can be trouble if you don't know what you're doin' with those~
After or while you are cleaning the battery connections, if you can, take the battery to a car parts shop and have them do a test. Your battery just may be starting to go. It will hold enough power to start to turn over but it quickly goes away. If you have a computer, you meed a full battery before it allows the computer to work the ignition. When you have problems with it not wanting to turn over, have someone give you a jump. If it turns over normal, and starts off right away, chances are it is the battery. But do clean the connections and put a full charge on the battery. When it is running, make sure it is charging correctly.
