Seen on another thread for the fix and Hallelujah! Praise God this worked for me too. 2013 Edge Limited-Driver's side would only blow cold but the passenger side had heat. I powered on the car (full power, not just accessory power but not started), and used the dash board controls, not the touch screen, Touched the Climate Power button and the Defrost button at the same time, then the Power button again, started the car and tried it out. It worked like a charm!

This appears to have worked for me as well. Had to try a couple times. You can hear the "door" open.

We installed a new Ford Edge 2013 Blend Door actuator. We have tried the "Power & Defrost" reset. We have removed the Battery Cables for 5 minutes and crossed them for 1 minute to clear the settings. None of these things have helped. We still can not make the new blend door actuator talk to our computer screen. Any suggestion?

This has happened to me twice now. The first time i tried the control panel fix it didn't work and eventually several days later the A/C started working properly again. It happened again yesterday. Tried this fix and it worked but it took about 4 or 5 times to get the sequence to work. I don't remember exactly how but one thing I noticed. When I got the sequence correct of pressing the buttons, the colored ambient lights started flashing. I waited for that to finished then restarted the A/C and everything worked!!! Thanks!!

I just fixed mine right now. Did try the power/defrost combo but that didnt seem to work. Found a video on youtube where the guy simply found and unplugged the blend door actuator and re-plugged it back. I tried this, and it works like a charm! so far ...

Just had to do this earlier tonight! My partner called me in a panic because it happened while she driving for a rideshare company! This is what worked for be: I held down the power & defrost buttons (below the touchscreen) at the same time until the accessory lights (ambient lights) started flashing. When I turned the AC back on, cold sure blowing from driver AND passenger side! Thanks CarGurus!!

2012 Ford Edge SEL It WORKED!!! Today, in Fort Lauderdale, current temp 83° I had to drive my 85yr old father to a Dr's appt amid this COVID19 scare. We got about 3 miles from home and he put his hand on his vent and said "Its blowing hot", and geez, it was full throttle HEAT hot on the passenger side and rear vent. It was a 40 minute drive each way and all I could do was just close his vents. As a single mother and caretaker for my father I am hardly in the position for a $500 dealership visit, so I naturally googled and found this thread. It did take a couple tries and in my case needed to be done with the "buttons", not the touch screen....I literally pressed the round power button simultaneously with the defrost button 3 separate times and something finally clicked. IM ECSTATIC!!! Thank you so much and I hope this helps someone else!

Should the air conditioner be on and running when you depress the climate aand control buttons? Also should the car engine be on nd running?

I unplugged the three different green connectors one at a time. Unplug, wait 10 seconds and plug back in. One connector was under the dash by the gas pedal. Two other connectors were behind the glove compartment. Simply sneeze the sides of the glove compartment and swing it down out of the way. To the left side I found 2 green connectors. Unplug one at a time for 10 seconds and plug back in. While you have the glove compartment out of the way, pull the plastic plate that covers the filter area. This plate is about 8 inches long and maybe 2 inches high. The filter is thin and at the top of this area. This process solved my hot air issues at trying all other suggestions. Hope it works for you.

So is the correct part, that permanently fixes this, the YH-1877 or 7T4Z-19E616-C for the passenger side?

I tried the climate control/defrost reset a few times and it switched which side the hot and cold air blew from. I did the reset again and it switched it again. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? Do I need to turn the car off and on after each reset?

I have a ford edge 2013 limited, with no hard buttons just touch buttons. I couldn't reset the actuator like everyone else through the console so this is what I did to fix it. if the air problem is on the passenger side blowing hot air. open your glove compartment, squeeze the box and take the springy thing on the left off by sliding it down letting you lower the box more. You will see TWO actuators here. On left and then up and on the left. They have green fuse connectors, disconnect for 10 sec each and then reconnect. This will reset them both you might hear a lil click. There is a THIRD actuator on the driver side it has the same green connect and is below the steering wheel, if you're having issues on the driver side disconnect this as well and reconnect. This initially didn't work for me because I missed the second actuator on the passenger side, but once I did that one it worked and my air was fixed.

Obsieian254 THANK YOU!! I had the same issue with no hard buttons as I have an after market android unit in my car. Disconnecting those connectors did the trick!

I disconnected the two green fuse connectors behind the glove box for 10 sec and reconnected them and it worked. Thank you very much
