Out of state car registration

I am currently financing a car in NY and am moving to California. I changed my
insurance policy so that it will be set for CA but I am just wondering if anyone
knows if I have to change my plates to CA plates? If so what is the process for
that since I don't own the title of the car myself?

When you get to California go to the nearest DMV office and change registration.
