Car makes a buzzing sound when I turn key on.

I have a 99 firebird  3800 series 2 . Fuel
gauge,  tack and speedometer gauge quick
working drove 20 miles home. Now car
makes a buzzing sound when I try to start it
and  won't crank at all. My alternative gauge  
was moving  when I turn my blinkers on  
before  my other gauges quit

It may be a bad cell in battery. Best have it load tested at a local parts supplier (they have portable units that will come out to you). If not the battery a simple cleaning of the posts does wonders. Also there mite be some corrosion in the positive (red) wire from battery to starter. It allows some juice thru but not enough for cranking/turning engine over.
