Go there and buy a car. Don't be a fool and buy a car you have never test driven.

F_O_R, Thank you for that sound advice. I have a friend that lives in the town that the car is in and she bought a Mustang there a few years ago. It is at a Ford dealership. She is going to recommend a mechanic that will do a thorough inspection as to the claims and soundness of the vehicle. Plus I'm pretty sure if I asked her to, she would also go test drive it for me. Do you think that is enough, or should I still go?
This is a judgement call. Do you trust your friends judgement? Do you want to risk losing a friend if the car is junk? If I were to do such a thing I would buy a Ford certified (CPO) Mustang.
Hire a professional inspection company to inspect the vehicle! I've used lemonsquad.com for my out of State purchases with excellent results! If you decide to buy the vehicle send the Dealer a certified check for the purchase price agreed upon. You don't pay sales tax at this time! You pay the sales tax to your home State when you title and register the vehicle in your home State! You will need to add the vehicle to your insurance policy and get a temporary insurance card. You will need to present the insurance card to the Dealer so they can issue a temporary transport license plate if you plan on driving the vehicle home. This will also be your temporary registration. If you're having the vehicle shipped put insurance on it in case anything happens to it in transit. Insist on a top tier position on the car carrier for your vehicle. If other vehicles are leaking fluids you don't want it leaking on your vehicle!! Hope that helps! Jim
