Should the transmission casing be under warranty for a rebuilt transmission?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Please help. We purchased a 1983 c10  chevy short bed silverado needing
everything. Started with transmission. Had rebuilt for 1200.00 with a year
warranty. Bring truck home where it sat and was not driven. Took to another
mechanic to install a new 383 engine. Get a call from mechanic the
transmission casing is cracked at the bolt hole and dow pin. Mechanic says
not covered under warranty. Should it be?

Did the mechanic that did the engine swap crack the case? Did you read the warranty?
