thank you for responding to my question. Yes I had the timing set at 10 and the idle at about 900 hundred. The problim is that is not stady.. every time I come to a stop idle goes up then I have to hit the gas pedal in order to bring it down to normal.. as soon as I put it in gear the idle goes up ans sticks, in other words regarlees of the idle and timing being set to manufacture spesifications the idle is erratic .

at some times this erratic surging of the engine at idle could be a faulty gas pump ,it seems to be a common problem with this cars ,specially if you already replaced a bunch of parts.
