Towing prep package on a RX350.

I am looking for an Lexus RX 350. I do not want the towing package but it
seems a lot of vehicles I am looking at have it. I will never use this feature.
Does the added equipment hurt me down the line as far as additional cost for
maintenance and repair?

You must be talking about the towing prep package. The Package included a heavy duty radiator and cooling fan, and engine and transmission oil coolers incase someone wanted to tow with the SUV. I would say this is a good thing, you always want extra cooling in a vehicle for longevity and less change of overheating. I would not worry about maintenance and repair costs. At most you will be adding a little extra coolant and or oil at your fluid changes. if there was an extra cost it would be minimal for the extra quart of oil.
The towing upgrades are a plus, no negatives.
