my windows on my 94 explorer xlt wont go down or up. i hear the motors running but they dont move. what can cause this?

ok, we have a few broken plastic parts inside the door...sadly someone has to take the door apart and replace the broken guides~ cannot tell which from this diagram, but will figure it out and order the correct replacement pieces~

sheesh 7 foot pounds...can a person go that light...guess I'm a gorilla~

Remove the inside panel of the door. Do not disconnect any electrical connections at this point. Push the down button on the panel with the key in the "on" position. Watch the motor/regulator and see if any of the attached parts are broken. If broken, replace affected part. If the motor is (humming) but not operating the window, make sure the window is not jammed preventing it from moving. If everything is OK in that area, the regulator is probably bad/weak and needs replacing.
