How to fix a short or break in the signal wire of the camshaft position sensor in a 94 Mustang?

I'm looking at buying a 94 Mustang from a private party where I live.  The car appears
to be in good condition cosmetically, but the guy says there's a break or shortage in
the signal wire of the camshaft position sensor causing it to "get a spark at the wrong
time".  How expensive or difficult is this to fix?  I am in no way car savvy enough to fix
this on my own, but I want to know if it's possible to fix, what needs replacing and the
like.  Thanks for the help!

its so hard to trust anyone when buying a car thats not running,but if he is telling you that the signal wire is the problem than it goes from cam sensor to the ecm off the top of my head i can,t say what the numbered pin is,once you know just run a wire from sensor to ecm and see if it starts and runs ,it should have a active code on check engine light thats the first thing you need to look at.
