My 1994 Ford Ranger 2WD only goes into Reverse. What might this be?

I can only get my 1994 Ford Ranger to go into reverse.  It won't go into drive at all.  When it first stared acting up I could Rev the engine and it would slip into gear.

Most likely your transmission is shot but check the transmission fluid level.
